Region of Liguria, Italy
Since the Centre’s inception
in 2009, within the City of Imperia, we have had strong ties with the local government of the Region of Liguria, Italy. This has includes Regional, Provincial and Comune levels. Specifically, within the Province of Imperia we have had ties with the Comune di San Remo, Imperia, Diano Marina and Cervo; and, within the Province of Savona this includes the Comune di Andora, Albenga and Savona. At an academic level within the Region, inter-institutional collaboration includes the Polo Universitario di Imperia (where the Centre’s name originates from), Campus Universitario di Savona, Università degli Studi di Genova and Polo Universitario della Spezia.

Europe and Beyond
Institutional collaboration has offered the Centre a means by which it has been able to share and engage in research and work internationally. On the European level, we have institutional collaboration throughout parts of the continent including France, Germany, Italy, Romania, Switzerland, Sweden and Ukraine. This peer interaction, within specialised academic disciplines, has enhanced our inter-institutional capacity and provides opportunity to create a communication network, something extremely critical, in much of the emerging fields the Centre is engaged in. This establishment across institutions offers reassurance that our work is meaningful and important at the academic level while simultaneously providing an outlet for business venture.
The Centre primarily takes a grassroots approach to institutional collaboration, and have extended beyond Europe, with key networks in parts of Africa (Nigeria, South Africa), Asia (Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam), North America (Canada, Mexico and the United States), South America (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay), and the Oceania (Australia, the Cook Islands and New Zealand). Our alliance of talent is taking an active role in shaping novel and future ideas in sustainability and relating interdisciplinary research.
